As I have stated before, my squat is horrible. Weights that I can pull with ease, I can't squat for nothing. Anyway, today was our last ME squat/dl day before we start our new program and it's also kind of like a transition week between programs. Our next program is going to feature more full squatting along with the box squatting we've been doing.

Coming in my hamstrings were very, very sore. I figured we'd just do some submaximal squats for like triples or so, but once the feeling of ME day kicked in, well you know how that goes.

Squats:
135x5-6
185x3
225x3
(wraps+belt)
255x3
285x2
315x2
335x1(15 lbs PR!)

Ok, so squat is up 15 lbs. Feels good.


2 hours later, UPS man delivers my regular INZER groove briefs(not heavy duty) I out them on and say, what the hell. See what some light weights feel like. Again, my serious mental problem kicks in and I kept adding weight.

315x1(highest ever with no wraps)
put wraps on:
350xmiss(hit my depth, then fell 2 or so more inches because I wasn't tight enough, couldn't fight it up)
350x1! Smoked! I hit my depth, had everything tight and my form was 10 times better than the previous attempt. I came ou of the hole very quickly.

My Champion suit is coming at the end of the week, so next week we are gonna max again with full gear. I'm looking at no less than 365 since I'll be fresh. Can't wait.

So what yur sayng is the briefs helped quite a bit right? I read you rpost but you didn tsay if you had wraps on first time. Either way good job. Wait till you get your suit. With al the hip support your gonna get concentrate on not letting your knees ride in. Fight that feeling of letting the suit take you where it wants. You might even habe to turn toes out a bit and move feet spacing a hair. Maybe not. But you will love sqautting ina suit. Lifitn ingear and raw is 2 different aspects and i knwo i look foraward to suit squattin. Its a blast! Cant wait to hear your re action on the suit too!
 
Thanks man!! I can't wait to test that thing out either. The briefs helped me with the exact reason I hate squats in the first place- down in the hole. I never want to compromise depth for hitting a weight, so sometimes I got too low and I lose it at the bottom.


I did have the wraps on during my first session today, but when I went back down I went up to 315 without wraps. The highest I had ever done without them was 300, so that felt good. Definitely felt the briefs helped!

I am actually now thinking of changing my mind and going for the full meet on June 15th instead of just benching. Now that my squat can be a little less pathetic. We'll see.
 
You better be doing the full meet in june. Im not cutting my westside routine short, so i can go up and lift, and you only bench... your doing the whole thing! and if not.. you get to be my bitch :) . Oh yeh, and i convinced my mom to order my stuff this weekend... well there goes like 150$ out of my savings account.. lol.

Nice job on the PRs, you'll do great with your suit
 
the first thing that usually gives with everyone in deadlifting is lowerback.ham's play a big role to but you have to address the lower back and glutes .as far as gear,get a pair of double ply groove shorts that inzer sales and a singlet and train in that.but good job on the workout.always good when you hit a PR
