Meet question

I really enjoyed my first powerlifting expirence. I was really surprised that there wern't more lifters in my class though. I think there was only 3 or 4o of us at 138. Is it this way at most other meets too? I know there not going to be a whole lot at this weight for tha fact that most powerlifters are big but I'm not, not at all. I want to compete aginst more people. I want to know I have to push big weight to win. Its more competive that way and I feel like I work harder. It also gives me something to shoot for!

Um, no. The lighter classes are always, well, light. I weighed more at 14 years old, and I am not the biggest guy in the world. The weight classes in the middle of the spectrum (181-198) are the ones with the most people in them, at least in the open class.

138?

yeah always very few people in the class... i had 3 people in mine, but im only 14... 138 though?? i wish i had that, cause then i wouldnt have to cut weight to make the 132...

NASA's weight classes seem to be different from every other orginization. The actual weight is 138.8. I hate it that noone is really competing aginst me. I will either have to go up in the classes or just try to break records until I hit a growth spurt. I'm 21 but I don't really think I'm done growing yet. Gor gods sake, can pass for 17

No offense man but my girlfriend weighs in the 138's.Start eating and go up in a weight classor two. Your weights will go up and you will more than likely come up against more competitors.

You can also compete against guys heavier than you they don't have to be in your weight class to compete with.

im in the same weight class as grantsdu, i just cant seem to get my weight up... i started eating more but at the same time, got back into biking, so instead of gaining weight, i lost 3 lbs lol.....

I don't want to go up soo much weight that I can't compete though. Thats the only downside. My Bench is just high enough I can compete and win. If I jump up a weight class there goes winning. I agree, winning isn't everything but it sure is fun!!

If I were you...I'd diet and drop to the 132's so you can compete against Amy Weisberger. I believe she still holds the men's and women's record with a 319 BP.

I don't think 319 is out of my reach. I'm going to have to train hard but I will get there. I know I can cut to 132. I weighted in at my last meet at 133!!
