McCanns Steel Cut Oatmeal Nutrition Info

I'm just posting this in case some runs into the same problem as I did this afternoon, calculating the nutr. values of the oatmeal after it's been cooked (wet.)

From the box the info is

Nutrition Facts
Serving Size: 1/4 cup dry (40g)
Servings Per Container: about 20

Amount
Per Serving % Daily
Value*

Total Calories 150

Calories From Fat 20

Total Fat 2 g 3%

Saturated Fat 0 g 0%

Polyunsaturated Fat 1 g

Monounsaturated Fat 1 g

Cholesterol 0 mg 0%

Sodium 0 mg 0%

Total Carbohydrates 26 g 9%

Dietary Fiber 4 g 15%

Soluble Fiber 2 g

Insoluble Fiber 2 g

Sugars 0 g

Protein 4 g

Vitamin A 0%
Vitamin C 0%
Calcium 2%
Iron 6%

.. that's for 1/4 cup dry. One cup dry makes about 3 cups wet, so if you multiply the values on the side of the box by 1.333333.... that's the values for 1 cup wet.

Comes out to around 200 calories, 2.7g fat, 34 carb, 5.3g protein.

Funny you should post this. I got mine bulk from the hippie store which was missing the nutritional info card on the bin. I was going to hit the grocery store today to pick up the info. Now I dont have to.

what's the price factor in there?

I find there is virtually zero difference health-wise between these and the generic store brand oats, particularly if you eat them raw.
