Marine Corps

that last paragraph was just the shit. you hit the nail on the head with that one. It was real hard to respect someone younger than me w/less experience telling me what to do. takes alot of pride swallowing and discipline.

Thank you. Though I must say I admire officers who were enlisted prior to their commissioning, Mustangs. They have a better understanding of us, and act accordingly. The first day my new 1st Lt took over camp gaurd, he was a Sgt as enlisted, he lifted the no drinking rule.

Once my tour as enlisted is up I'm going to go back to the civ div, and finish up getting a degree on top whatever college I get while I'm in. If I don't like life in the civ div, then I'll go to OCS and come back to the Corps. No way in hell I'd ever subject a family I'll have to an enlisted man's pay.

TRUST ME!!!

Being huge and staying huge is near impossible in the Corps. And IS impossible in the beginning. BUt trust me as an 11 year GRUNT. Being a Marine will be more important to you than being big. USMC you signed the muther F*** contract. It is time to worry more about your run time, crunches and pullups. You are wbout to undergo something you have no idea of yet. And it is the best thing in the world. Cardio and strength is what you need, mental endurance.

but if your m.o.s isnt infantry you can pack on the pounds after you get into the fleet. youll still have to do regular pt 3 times a wk or somethin, but nothin bad, like 9-15mi wk

Yeah im not in the infantry so im good, i have started runnin alot and doin crunches, and as for my pullups i can do 10 right now, so im good enough for the IST which only requires 3, but i want to pull off a 300 pft at the end of bootcamp, so i have been runnin like every day these past 3 weeks, and i was runnnin alot at the beginning of this year and i have been doin crunches every other day, but im gonna back down to 2 times a week.

I am currently in DEP also for the Army. I'm leaving in January and I've been wondering if i should lay off the weights and try to improve on pushups, situps and running???

Don't cut weights out all together. Just incorporate push ups, and other body resistance exercises into it.

A buddy of mine just graduated from highschool is going into the Army. I asked him why he isn't going into the Corps. Told me "Someone forgets to click the off switch for Marines when they get out".
