Losing Way More Fat Now That I stopped Using R-ala!

It has been 6 weeks now since I have stopped using r-ala in my diet, and I have lost WAY more fat than I was losing while taking it. I have not changed anything in my diet, exercise, or supplement regime except cutting out r-ala with my carbohydrate meals. Before I was wondering why I was not losing any fat, why I seemed to look puffier, now I know.
 
IMO r-ALA sucks! All these supplements fucking suck! A total waste of money IMO. For me...if it's legal...then it don't work! Nuff said!
 
I highly doubt r-ALA was making you fat bro. There is scientific proof of it's benefits - which I will agree may not be noticeable unless you are taking 5 grams a day (which few can afford).

placebo effect possibly?

There have been plenty of studies that show how r-ala can actually help shuttle carbs to fat stores too. I think the only time that it may be useful woudl be post workout because you muscles are insulin sensitive rather than adipose tissue. At any other time, taking r-ala is just going to shuttle carbs to yoru fat stores just liek an insulin spike.
 
I think you read up on ALA and not r-ALA. Anyways...I don't take that shit no more. Don't need it. Why? I eat clean, train hard and take uh....um......supplements. ;-) And they work a whole lot better than that crap.

Did you recognize the same thing as me? I am dead serious when I say, NOTHING ELSE CHANGED IN MY PROGRAM EXCEPT THE ABSENCE OF R-ALA.

unless you were using glucorell, its just as likely that you were using ALA (racemate) or r-heavy (80-90%). Since only Avopharm and labiochem (italy) use verified methods of testing for enantiomers.

This is incorrect and an unfortunate common misreading of the studies.

as a note- the main cause of fat gain from carbohydrates for the general population is from use of sucrose and HFCS (high fructose cornsyrup). As fructose does not require insulin to be stored as fat.

note2- insulin insensitivity in fat cells is the first sign of diabetes. Insulin sensitivity in fat cells is essential to proper carbohydrate metabolism. Note- insulin sensitivity in fat cells mean less fat gain as insulin insensitivity in fat cells leads to fat cell maturation.
 
well that makes things easier to work from.

what kind of diet?

ratios and general sources would be helpful.

how many caps per day.

dosing times?

caps with every meal?

this is contradictory to general results, so figuring out what the issue is and why is essential to making reccomendations regaring R+ Lipoic

No, I didn't recognize the same thing you did, but I didn't notice much of anything from experimentin with Glucorell-R. Even with taking dextrose after workout or eating carbs throughout the day I could not feel a difference when taking the R-ala or not. I guess it just depends on each person individually.
 
My diet has been a 40/30/30 pro/carbs/fat diet. I took my weight x 12 for calories over 6 meals. My training consists of 4 days a week of weights, with 5 days a week of cardio. My Cardio is 20-25 miniutes duration after my weights with 1 day a week od HIIT cardio on a non weight day. Nothing has changed since then, but I dropped the Guceroll R and have since dropped alot more fat. I look a lot leaner, eventhough it has been only 4 lbs drop in total weight. I look WAY BETTER. I don't know if it causes water retention, but everyone has been telling me I look a lot leaner lately.
 
no dis macro, i meant it sucks for me.

jkurtz i use ala 100mg before meals 200mg before pizza binges...also i only use during carb ups on the weekends

a difference you can actually "feel"

I don't "feel" a difference with any of the supps i'm taking, including my multivitamin but it doesn't mean it isn't working.
