Hey bro,

Look I boxed for 9 yrs amateur and in the U.S. ARMY. I can tell you this much. There are good things about a boxer lifting and there are bad things.
The good thing is that it will help to develop a stronger punch. But, to much muscle and it will slow you down.
To top that off. If you train anywhere as hard as I had to when I boxed. Then you are going to be doing so much conditioning and cardio it is going to be hard to put wait on at the same time. Not only that, you have to think about your weight class and do you want to move up if you gain to much weight.
Hope this helps ya out.
By the way, I am not saying don't lift weights. Just that if you are that serious about boxing it should not be that big of a priority to you right now. Just don't over do it. A lot of boxers ruined there techniques by lifting to many weights. Tightens you up. Not a good thing for a boxer.
