Let us all follow this new reality show and comment on EF...

I thought it was a decent fight. It showed what a some ground skills could do to deter someone's stand-up game. Sure, it wasn't exciting, but that wasn't the point of the fight. If Josh was scared of Chris' strikes, then he had the skills to take Chris out of his game. Isn't that the point? Josh sure didn't seem to have too much in the way of stand-up striking himself. I could've went and made a sandwich in the time it took for him to draw back his hand and throw that one punch. It just looked awful. And Chris was pissed that Josh held him on the ground and do nothing. What did he expect? Josh won using a legitimate strategy as far as UFC goes. The point of self-defense is to not get hurt first, and Josh nullified Chris' attack. I wanted Chris to win, but i feel that the win was deserved, as much as Chris hated the way it went. Are they both uFC material? If Chris can get whipped by someone like Josh like that, he wouldn't have a chance against an accomplished fighter.

in mma you gotta know how to fight on the groung from top or bottom as chris would say piss poor performance ,i think he might find his way into somebodys training camp after the show is over perhaps randys

I think Chris and Nate Quarry are already on Team Quest with Randy. If so, I can't figure out why his ground game was so weak. I know Josh is a good wrestler, but Chris looked as though he had never practiced defending against takedowns.

correct, he and nate train @ team quest. Chris is also a trainer there and has wrestling experience. I saw a few attempts at a Kimura submission on Chris's part, which is more that I can say I saw Crotchcheck do.

That fight was a dissapointment on 3 levels for me:

1. Crotchcheck's Lay and Pray - he couldn't do shit except lay on top of him...this isn't wrestling, it is fighting and he will get owned in the future (hopefully by Leben in a grudge match @ the grudge match finale of the show) b/c he lacks ability to finish the fight. Lay and Pray, Lay and Pray....as Chris said it himself, nobody wants to see that kind of fighter.

2. The Ref - He didn't stand the fighters up as often as he should. In Pride, Crotchcheck would have been stood up much quicker than that for not advancing position! What makes this worse is that a.) There was only 2 rounds in the fight, which is an even shorter timeframe than a regular fight, and b.) UFC's rules are flawed so that this Lay and Pray bullshit is easier to get away with.

3. CHRIS DIDN'T HAVE HALF THE AGRESSION I THOUGHT HE'D HAVE!!! I thought he would be like a rabid animal going after his victim, but it appears as if he spent too much time cautiously feeling out Crotchcheck...I am sure the fact that he knew Crotchcheck was looking to take him down every second of the fight didn't help out much either. I am willing to bet that if this fight had more rounds (which it should have had!), Chris would have KO'd him, b/c he WAS stuffing a lot of Josh's takedowns....He just needed more time to land his blow.

Yes,Josh's name is Crotchcheck from now on. I try to get something out of every fight I see; not a whole lot to learn from this one except what not to do. The first fight ended dramatically, but it wasn't very satisfying considering Lodune had already defeated himself in his head and Bobby was just stronger even with the weight ordeal.
Still, I'll be watching every week.Besides, it's good to get a glimpse of what Randy and Chuck consider training.

josh did a good job getting and keeping chris on the ground all he needs to do is learn how to throw some punches and elbows when he's down there ,thats how alot of mma fights are won if your strong on the ground why stand up ?chuck liddell is stronger standing then on the ground thats why he stays up as much as he can where randy
likes to get you down and pound you ,but soo far i havent seen anybody that looks like they could contend with the ufc or pride guys ,but i'll watch it every week somtimes more then once just because theres nothing ever on

UFC fights are about entertainment tho
taking the other fighter out of their game is fine if you have some purpose to it
Josh didn't ground Chris to get a submission, he grounded him so he woudln't get the shit kicked out of himself
this to me looks basically like a boxer holds up in the corner and takes a beating and the judges put him ahead on the scorecard....

lets not forget Leben was missing a knuckle fromhis primary striking hand
I'm not going to say it shouldn't have counted or any bullshit copout like that, but dont' judge Chris based on that fight, at full health it may have gone the same way or it may have been very different

Let's hope for a better show tonight. I caught the rerun on Sunday. That fight was even more pathetic the second time.

After seeing the fight last week, watching Chris' highlight film on his website, and watching the fight again, the only logical conclusion is that he fought some really bad fighters and/or had a very good camera man/editor.
