just saying hello and asking a question

i wanted to say hello to your board ive been looking in for some time. i have a question if i may,

basicly here is my problem ive been competeing in powerlifting at 308 lbs and my bp and weight are completely out of control.....i went to the dr. and she put me on bp meds and told me to lose weight....lose weight? how the hell do you do that? i was brought into the sport to get as big as possable im 5 ft 6 in....and im at about 285 or so now ive been off everything for about 3 months.......i have spoken to a couple of mods from other boards in this site and they both suggested to come here and ask questions to try and learn how to eat corectly.......i would like to be free of these bp meds and compete at 242 next year......thank you all for your time and any help or guidence you may offer
 
well... i lost 30 35 lbs in a few months this summer..
my diet changed big time and i incorporated cardio. at the end of my diet (i was goin to do a show) i was at the gym 3 times a day. that doesn;t mean you should be doin that. but cardio a few times a week should be sufficient.
my diet was:

meal 1 - 10 eggs and 1/2 cup oatmeal. (9 egg whites and 1 whole egg)
meal 2 - MRP
meal 3- chicken and brown rice
meal 4- chicken and brown rice
meal 5- either chicken and rice or MRP
meal 6- chicken and brown rice
meal 7 chicken and brown rice
(meal 8) chicken and lettuce

I ate every 2 hours. I added stuff to the chicken and rice ( bbq sauce, katchup, hot sauce and all that good stuff, but not too much)

you should slowly change your diet around to being clean. and then when you are eating cleaner you can have a cheat meal, or if you were very very clean eating for 7-10 days you can have a cheat meal!

thank you very much for your guidence sweed !!! what is the portion of chicken and rice ??? is it like 1 piece of chicken? 1 cup of rice?.....ive read about maintenance calories......but how do you know what those are ? how do you find out how much you would need to eat? i think my metabolism is very slow!!!! if i eat letuce i put on 5 pounds
 
At your size, I wouldn't even worry about a strict diet at the moment. I would concentrate on eating healthy food first. Start by cutting out all the sugar and processed foods in your diet. That includes fast food! This is all assuming you don't eat healthy in the first place.
 
i realy dont eat healthy ....im trying to learn how to and what to and what not to eat.....ive never realy eaten and trained smart weve always just lifted heavy and eaten alot all the time
