Just found out via myspace that my brother is gay

just talk to him like a man , a gay man but a man non the less.

seriously dont treat him any different , just treat him like you always have and when he's ready to tell you he will.

so you think I shouldn't bring it up first? I called my sister but she didn't pick up which is probably better considering my state of mind right now. I pretty much figured he was but I didn't want to stereotype ie: he's really into musicals and wants to star on broadway. Yea I know it's almost funny to think about it as it's so apparent but there are guys that star on broadway that aren't gay so for me to assume such a thing wasn't the best idea. It's just too bad our parents are like they are :bawling:

It's their fault if they are disappointed because they still think it's 1950.

yea man I know. It's just hard knowing that my brother is gonna eventually have to own up to it. I already know the utter catastrophy that is gonna ensue when he tells thim. I never had a great relationship with my brother and sister growing up as my sis is6 years younger and my bro is 9 years younger. Even now, the only time we talk is when I go over there and even then, it's not a real intelligent conversation, just small talk. It's gonna be hard

You could still stand to drink more as evidenced by your immaculate typing.

Anyway's, don't bring it up, he will talk to you about it when he is ready. This could be something he's still kind of getting used to. He has to be able to accept himself before he will ever expect anyone else to.

Yeah it is very possible that if you bring it up to him, even in a supportive way, he could get defensive or feel like he has to explain himself and his lifestyle which will be uncomfortable for everyone. plus, it kind of puts him on the spot.
