1 Trex

9:30am - Physical Therapy
Did the usual today - Leg Extensions, Lower Leg Extensions with knee on a ball, TKEs - but increased the reps....looks like next time we'll up the weight & lower the reps....After my "workout" & manipulation - got -2 hyperextension & 139 degrees flex!!!! Also saw Marty briefly who said once I can begin doing closed-chain exercises, I'll progress further much more rapidly.....

Also have been getting the insurance reports showing them paying for my brace & hospital stay, etc......The brace was just over $1600 and my stay in the hospital was just under $12,000!!!! Thank God for insurance!!
:worried:

**Got a manicure & pedicure today.....and bought some Super-Cute Flip Flops!! OH and my shoulders are SORE from yesterday.....*Yay!*

**Loooooooooove the Trex (forgot all about you darling!) - Wasn't hungry while I was out and I was alert......

1:35pm
2 Glucorell

1:50pm
1 box Beef & Bean Chili

ha ha ha! insurance is it. I owned and operated a small DME company for a few years, I found a little niche and filled it in my town. Sold it a couple years ago, great money, but I got a little bored with it.
You are lucky if it was fully covered. most plans only cover 50%-80% of DME (your braces) you know, your ROM brace the one that goes from crotch to ankle, that bugger reimburses at $655.10 and only actually wholesale costs $90-120 to your PT or MD!
Your functional brace wholesale cost is between $260-$530 depending the maker ie. Donjoy, Innovation Sports (CTI), Breg, Meuller etc. Customs ($530) if you add paint or decals or custom airbrush will bump it up $100.00, but they reimburse at $1510.00 then you have various add on codes, which again bump up the price that insurance pays.
The MD's. PT's and DME suppliers make a KILLING!! Insurance payouts are crazy, all these prices are dictated by Medicare pay schedules and we all have to pay the co-pays , which usually more than cover the actual wholesale cost of the brace/devices. The rest is gravy.
That foam immobilizer cost from $35-55... depending on the maker, but reimburses at $210.00! a piece a foam, metal stays and velcro.... sheesh.
Glad you have good insurance!

Interesting...... I have to pay $150 for the brace & $332 for the hospital out of pocket......still waiting to see if my "emergency" visit the day after I hurt myself will be covered or not......

yay! thats a great co-pay!

Small Announcement.....

Won't be logging Friday - Monday as I'm heading to VT tomorrow.....my ski share is up on the 15th & I have to get the rest of my stuff......Plus, another funny thing is that DE only has a 5 cent deposit on bottles, not cans - but VT has a deposit on cans AND bottles - so I've been saving up all the cans with a VT stamp on them in addition to the micro-brew beer I bring home from up there (liquor stores won't take the bottles back down here as they don't sell that beer). Looks like I have 168 deposit items to return!! LOL

The building is a restaurant/bar where I usually hang out at noon....that trail there goes pretty much straight down (it's a short trail tho) & I finally skiied it this year!! The equipment stuff is the Gondola....
