i wouldnt have any luck at all...

hello my friends its been a while since i posted... a couple weeks back i decided to ride my mountain bike to the gym,,it was a nice sunny day for a bike ride and its was only 3 miles from my house..well as i was peddling my old ass down the side streets i made a turn heading down hill and a postal van pulled out in front of me....i was doing maybe 15/20 mph and i slammed right into the side of the truck face first.. then i flew about 10 feet landing on the ground knocking me out....i now have lost 80% vision in my right eye fracturing the orbital rim of my skull ..i also have a herniated disc , i cant even bend over to wash my face....

come monday i will find out if i have to get surgery to repair my eye wich is being pinched behind the eye causing my loss of vision....


how fucked is that.:mad:

Oh man that sounds horrible. I was wondering if you were still around since I haven't seen a post by you in awhile. Good luck and I really hope thing work out for ya.

It could get worse....A highschool buddy of mine (he was 33 Years old) died of brain cancer a few weeks back, 3 kids!.....fuck that is way to young to go!

As a fellow cyclist, I hope you are okay and that you recover 100% from your injuries.

Unfortunately, I too have been hit by a car and I know the feeling. My best wishes go out to you for a speedy recovery.

Sorry to hear that MOD.

When you have your surgery make sure and have a plastic surgeon close you up and repair the bone damage.

Just a thought.

I had a similar injury in 1991. Completely crushed everything on the left side of my face, but luckily there was no damage to the eye.

What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger. Good to hear the positive attitude because it's the best therapy for healing. Also, good thing that they have deep pockets, sounds like THEY can pay for your medical bills. Keep us posted on your progress. Stay strong bro!

its obviously apparent in your post that you are strong M.O.D....most would not drag themselves out of bed and let depression get the better of them.

i too am an avid mountainbiker.......ride my Klein to class ed and for cardio/fun when i want to. ive been hit once.......mild injurys though and was fortunate to walk away.

Your gonna be fine brother.......get some rest, relax and sue the fuck out of the usps!!!!

in no time at all you will, in all likelyhood you will be taking an early retirement and, once your healed.........all will be well. best of luck brother!!!

Sorry to hear about that. Just make sure you're recovered when you decide to get back to the gym. Health is always the most important aspect of our lives.

you can do it, many have overcome even worse if you can believe that, always remember-----walk by faith not by sight--------------


if you have the drive and dedication to get as far as you have in bodybuilding and you can drag your ass to the gym everyday and cook chicken breast at six oclock in the morning to last you the rest of the day you can over com this. it may seem out of your hands but dream every night about it and know in your heart you can do it and sooner or later you will be back on that bike pediling your "old ass " to the gym.

shit if its i dont feel bad enough , i have lost about 15lbs in two weeks and of course when i see any of my friends they have to say " wow you have lost some weight"...well tomorrow i will find out if i need surgery on my eye, i cant see shit out of it right now...its all just a blur , so i sit here and wonder what i did wrong and if this is some type of karma coming back to me...

life can change so fast on you when you least expect it..

anyone know the affects of vicodin? the doc has me taking this shit for pain but what is strange about it is i have been real fucking depressed but when i take the vic it seems to take that edge away for a bit...but i'm guessing it can be an addicive drug right?

Vicodin is real addictive

And can be hard on your kidney’s and yes it will depress you, are you on the 500 or the 750?

It does not matter too much, and if you hurt your back that bad, I don’t think the vicodin will do much more than kill about 75% of the pain.

Hey, that can be fixed......one of my boys had a similar injury. The docs had to pack the socket to return the eye to proper positioning. His sight is perfect, now, but you will be laid up a while. Only a few surgeons do this exclusively....do you have a good one?

well my friends looks like i'm going to have a lot of down time now...the nerve behind my eye needs repaired so i have to get surgery this week..


you guys stay well and i hope to talk to you soon..kind of down in the dumps roght now so i doubt i will be posting for a while besides i can hardly seen the fucking screen right now:p :bawling:

Good God, that's awful. I can definitely relate with the frustration of having an eye problem and trying to read the computer screen, not to your magnitude though. I hope things go well for you.

well guys i found out today there is no surgery that will be able to help me so i'm pretty much fucked....i fractured the orvis in my face where the eye sits in and damaged the optic nerve....the fibers in the nerve may not fully come back at all and at this point i lost 80% vision in one eye...doc said i may get back a little bit but it will never be the same....

so on that note take live every day to the fullest and be happy .. your life could change on the drop of a dime.

M.O.D used to stand for master of defense now it stands for more optical damage:p
