"I heard squats are bad for you"

Can you believe that dumb shit? That's what my friend told me when I was giving him training advice. I said if he wants to get serious and pack on some mass, squatting is essential.

Nevertheless, he doesn't squat. (Or train seriously or dedicated)

the thing about squats and beginners is that they tend to do them without knowing how much weight to use, or without proper warmups, and like deadlifts, if you do them with bad form, they might hurt your lower back.

that's about all i could see being wrong with squats...otherwise a great compound lift for GH release, and great for the quads...tell your friend to warmup before doing them, and show him how to do them properly, and he will realise it's just a myth

I am told all the time that everything that I do is bad for me. You should have seen the look on my ex's mothers face when she saw me at my fist strongman comp. My boss saw a pic of me doing deads from my last contest and said that I was gonna do severe damage to myself if I kept that up.

Ohh well...I disagree.

Well I guess everything that is fun in life is bad for you the. Powerlifting, drinking, cheeseburgers. Oh well I will just keep doing it no matter how many strange looks and comments I get.

Cheers,

Someone will always find the perfect excuse not to do the hard stuff! They usually wait long enough to hear the one that sounds the best and then they run with it.
