I guess I'm no longer a parent

I understand the cursing thing but what's your deal with the music.

I'll tell you my deal with it. It's that da** rap music that kids listen to these days with filthy language and talk about sex, drugs, etc. in the songs. I'm not going to listen to that crap and I should forbid her from listening to it. Any decent parent would do the same. Of course at least half of the members here are barely 20 years old and most of them are very immature and will not understand until they grow up.

No offence, cuz you my brother, but this new God kick sucks the dog's cockia...
I wouldn't want to be around you neither.

So many memories. I'll never regret it. I did everything with her when she was little. We went to Discovery Zone about twice a week sometimes more. I was everything to her when she was little, but relationships change and you just have to adjust. One day, I'm confident that we'll be close again. But she turned into Satan's daughter overnight. The hormones maybe.

Yep -- that's what happens with teenage girls.....wait till the hormones really kick in....ugh!

I know what you're going thru & it's hard -- but like the other's said, keep trying to make contact & she'll come around when she's 22 or so....it's not 18, cuz J is 18 & still the same way....

That's because you don't believe in God. I do and if that separates people, so be it. Now be good.

Music was a big part of my life as a teen, it still is, but as a teen it helped me identify with myself and my emotions. I wouldn't want to be around you either if you took that away from me. Did your parents ever bitch at you for listening to rock or whatever you listend to back then, the devils music?

Just be tolerant enough to not push her away.

:lmao: Yep I remember!! And you know what??? She took them all out after 2 months!! WTF?? Then why bother?? That's what I couldn't understand -- the illogic of it all....

But, as far as the music -- I listened to stuff my parents thought was weird & crazy -- but I don't think what I listened to had the cursing in it that the rap crap has now....

They sure did. They made sure that they couldn't hear it. THey let me do things that I wouldn't let my daughter do though. Such as bring my girlfriend over and go into my room and close the door. They had to have known what was going on. I think they were afraid I'd run away if they did anything. Being a parent is hard. Difficult decisions.

bingo!

I'm 28 and I still recent my father for acting in similar ways to how you are acting now. The only reason I still even talk to him is because I like seeing my mother, otherwise I could go the rest of my lifetime without missing him.

Swallow your pride a little now, you'll be thankful for it later.
