Cooked a whole whack a week ago but went away over the weekend so I still have two in the fridge. It has been exactly 8 days in the fridge. Risk it or no?

Sounds risky bro. I grill 20 pieces of chicken at a time. But, I try to finish them in by 5 days.

what if i leave chicken out, not in the fridge, just in a box in my room for like 3 hours before i eat it, is that legit?

just remove the feathers bro....hard to swallow otherwise.
the box thing is kinda cruel IMO....plus if he is stressed, the meat goes bad.

you guys wait 5 days? 5 DAYS?

holy crap. 2 days and either i eat it or my dog does, anything more than that and i imagine salmonella jumping all over it like HIV

Also make sure you trim the toenails and file down the beak or it is really SCRATCHY to swallow. LOL.

Thoroughly cooked chicken can't re-aquire salmonella.

Cooking it kills bacteria

However - it CAN go bad after a while.

8 days - I don't know - I've gone as far as 5 or 6.

Do what you gotta do

Cooked chicken left in the fridge, sounds dry, and is dry as f*ck.. I eat mine fresh! Little marinade, or mrs.dash..Im good to go!

Never leave the chicken at room temperature for more than two hours.

Raw chicken can be stored safely for 2 or 3 days in the refrigerator at 40°F or less

Cooked chicken can be store for up to 3 or 4 days in a refrigerator at 40°F or less

Thank-you Betty Crocker :)

That's how I like it - when I am home for the day, it's a real treat to eat each chicken meal, freshly cooked.

thank you George Forman (I'm on my 6th one)

I used to do that...............................LOVE the outdoor grill

I've gone as long as two weeks but it tasted like shit. I tried to eat a breast that was over a month old but it had mold on it.

you really do have no ends as to what you put in your mouth....god damn...

Soak it in Marsala wine (sweet Marsala) and then recook - it will be moist and very delicious. I use that for old chicken all the time. Throw in some shrooms' to top it off.

Spot-on advice

my stomach is like a damn rock but I'd munch down :chomp:

fyi, since we are talking about old chicken, i thought I'd mention that I just dropped an SBD.

Silent but deadly.

Good thing are family holds random SBD drills for escape and survival, otherwise it may have been a disaterous event...

I want to advise you on a wonderful chicken breast recipe. This is a very easy to prepare dish.

broiled chicken breast
I advise you to try.

[h=4]Steps[/h]
  • Step 1Position the top rack about “3-4” from the heating element. Set the oven to broil and let it preheat on high.

  • Step 2Line a baking tray with foil.
