I started by buying some ONE-WAY bars but was told that they contain too much crap for what im looking to do (lose weight) i was told by quite a few people to either make my own, or find a decent meal replacement bar instead...so I found a recipe online for some homemade protein bars...
Now, i modified the recipe a little bit to include some PB for a little taste kicker...after making the recipe i forgot where i saw it, i just wrote it down
so if i found it on here thanks!
The recipe goes as follows:
in a mixing bowl put:
3 cups oats
2 TB all natural peanut butter
1 package fat free, sugar free jello
8 scoops protein powder (i made mine with ON 100%)
add 2 cups skim milk into the bowl, and stir lightly until you've got a nice pasty mix (kind of looks like brownies when you mix em)
after you've got your paste, evenly spread the mix across a pre-greased (fat free PAM
) glass or tin baking dish..I used a glass 13x9 [probably should have used a slightly smaller pan). melt another 2 TB of peanut butter, and drizzle it evenly across the pan (be creative
).
refrigerate overnight...[disclaimer] HaH, i havent tried one of these yet since they are still in the fridge...BUT the recipe said they taste very good without the PB, so im sure it tastes good with the PB also...
and now onto the important stuff...adjusting for the added peanut butter
if my calculations are correct...
if you cut 8 bars
-------------------------
values are PER bar
calories: 241
fat: 6
carbs: 31
protein: 30
*************************************************
if you cut 12 bars
-------------------------
values are PER bar
calories: 161
fat: 4
carbs: 21
protein: 20
Like I said, I havent tried it, but does it sound like a good tasting, worth while addition to my meal plan? $2 ea. for protein bars is way outta control...I calculated it cost me about $3 to make at home...
feedback pleeeeease![Smile :) :)](https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f642.png)
