Hip-pain after squating?

Just wondering if anyone has had some hip pain after squating? I just finished my SQ w/o and feel like my hip/groin area is kinda tight, but not really in pain?? It feels like if I stretch it some more it will "click" and feel better ... almost like when you crack your knuckles?

It seems to be in my inner thight/pelvic area... This is pretty much the first time I felt it. The only thing I can think of it could have possibly been from was one time this week after waking up it felt kinda tight, which it does sometimes... I then stretched it a little and it clicked, like your knucles-not a break!! But dont really think this was causing it, or maybe it is .. Anyone had this before?
 
After low box squats i did. I started wearing my briefs and it stopped. Sounds like you may have found a week spot. Train it.
 
That feelin in your groin is usually a sign that you are doing the box squat right...it is very common. I had it for almost the first year I was box squatting. Nothing to worry about.
 
Cool.... Maybe it is a weak spot, but I also do at least 1-2 sets of pause SQ's holding at the bottom position for 2 sec's after regular squats (hoping to build the hips) - Hannibal -- no box squating for now.... I feel it tight when I go to Parrallel.. But then again all of my squats for the last 2 months have been to full parrallel.. Will see how it goes :)
I may start box SQ again since I seen the box I used to use today at the gym... 1-2" below parrallel :D

I remember yelling at Hannibal the day after my first box squat session...my body hurt from my hips down to my knees..lol. Didn't know I had all those muscles in my groin/hip flexor area...

Pain is a brutal teacher....but you learn.
 
Might try briefs or suit with the straps down. If I wear my suit with straps down, no hip pain. If I dont' wear anything, severe hip pain.

Do you bother to stretch the area out? Or try rubbing anything on such as red hot before squatting?
 
Arioch asks a good question about stretching. I had a hip and
glut injurry in December. Part of the fix was stretching. As long
as I stretch, I have no pain from the squat.

Actually i do at lt least a few mins stretching, hip adductor machines, and 2 sets with the bar, then start putting on weight very light and work up... I think maybe some more stretching might help... Will try some better stretching next time and concentrate on my hips, instead of just hams, quads .... Have not used any rubs yet...
