i need to know how much cinder blocks weigh, the ones with the two holes? someone must know

i am forced to use these as i can afford to get a gym membership or buy enough weights,so i figured this would work fine,i have a bench and bars etc,any help?

please dont laugh im serious

you have a bench and bars but no plates? i think the cinder blocks are like 30 pounds, not sure. thats what they feel like.

maybe you could train strongman events instead of lifting all the time?

hmm thats pretty hardcore man...

if you are really serious...i'd do this:

weigh it on a scale?....you prob don't have a scale if you are asking this though

or call a local home depot or some other material supply store and be like:

"hello, i need to know how much your cinderblocks weigh, the project i'm doing can only support X ammount of lbs and I need to know how much to buy"

or you could be like
"hi, i'm a nut job who works out with cinderblocks, how much do they weigh"

good luck

i have about 130 lbs of the plastic plates but they are shit and simply not enough weight for everything ,i can do arms, shoulders but chest back and traps are left out that way

thanks for the info though i appreciate it

maybe you could sneak into gnc or someplace like that and without them looking put it on one of their sacles, or just go to someplace where they sell scales and cinderblocks at the same place, like BJ's

lol im pretty sure ill call home depot and ask,i have a large supply of blocks available for free, since they were just dumped behind this business with other slabs of concrete etc,but i was guessing about 30lbs a piece myself

thanks again

Go to the YMCA and ask for a subsidized membership, all you do is fill out a few forms telling then how little money you have. You should be able to get a membership there for 5-10 bucks a month.

Beats the hell out of tossing around cinder blocks. (Sorry Bfold :D)

Look for the cinder blocks that are a solid rectangular piece. (About 3-4 inches high and no holes.) Find someone with a cement drill bit and drill holes 1-2" in diameter. (Depending on the size of bars you have.)
They are cheaper than the larger one with holes, you will be able to stack more on the bar and they will be more stable than trying to hold the ones with the larger holes on the bar while pressing.

Check the classifieds. You can find weights in standard and olympic size for cheap. I've seen 500-600lbs for around $150 used.
