Help me name my boat

Yeah, I am enamoured with old wooden sailboats. There is one beside our boat in the marina where we are having the boat painted. It was originally built in the 60's, and the original owner bought it back 2 years ago, and is steadily working still to fully restore her! He says he has 3 years more to go! What a wonderful man this guy is. He showed me pictures of when he used to race her. What a beauty!

He is going to live on his boat in Bimini when he is done. he was giving me some good advice on what all to do to our boat. I have these stupid exhaust vents on the side that need to be replaced in stainless steel (originally were fiberglass) but I can't get anyone to fabricate them for me. Plus, I found out yesterday that there is water bleeding into the fuel in both engines. The new parts must be fabricated in Europe. Sheesh, it is very expensive. I was going to remodel the inside, but I will probably hold off until next year now and just replace a few little things on the inside. i redid all the teak myself. =-) Labor of love.

VERY NICE!! A woman that can use her hands, a man's dream....

I don't have the coin for a boat - plus I live in Chicago so I would need to pull it out of the water and store it every summer, but I have always been a big boat, yacht, dingy, cruiser (whatever the F you want to call them) guy. My weakness is for sailing. I don't care if the wife and kids are living on the curb, I will have a sailboat before I die... :) I hope!

Yeah, I'm very fortunate to have a canal behind my yard so that I don't have to pay marina fees. It gets very expensive.

Gosh, I love sailboats too. They are so graceful and just so breathtakingly beautiful. You could start with a small cat. One good thing is that they finance them out for many, many years, unlike vehicles. They can be stored up in racks in the marina, so that they don't have to stay wet, which is less expensive.

Go to this website. I love this couple. They bought a little sail boat with no prior experience except Sailing 101 and are taking it around the world!

That's nuts... Spending all that time alone in a small boat with only ones significant other?????? :)

Thanks - I'll have to take a look at the site when I have some more time, but it looks cool. The issue I am having with boat buying is this little voice in my head yelling at me about money.... That little voice is my wife. Oh - and it's not a little voice.

When I was a younger I completed a sailing course up in Lake Geneva. I haven't been able to go sailing since. Probably something like 15 years or so. :( Oh - and no boob pics... :( :( :(

LOL...you want to see Ali's boobs? I think they look small but perky from the pics. ;-)

Ah, you have to put your foot down with the wife, or at least bribe her by letting her put her foot down into several pairs of shoes. ;-)

I have a yacht which I am remodeling. It was named "over forty too" by a prior owner, but I HATE that name. The name means that the boat is over 40 feet and the owner is over forty, also. Very stupid, old-fart name for a very sexy boat. My fiance is thinking of "trophy wife" as a tribute to me. Any suggestions would be appreciated. :qt:

That's very cool. :)

I would not name it Trophy Wife as it could be misconstrued by others (if you care) that the boat were more important than you...at least it came to my mind anyway. If he feels that way about you, you must be very pretty and mean a lot to him, which is wonderful - but I myself wouldn't want to have the title as one of those crazy 'working women', LOL.

Arianrhod

This is the Celtic god of the Silver Wheel or goddess of Stars and the Sky by which to sail. This wheel was also known as the Oar Wheel. Star goddess; Sky goddess; virgin; goddess of reincarnation; Full Moon goddess. Her palace was called Caer Arianrhod (Aurora Borealis).

You could put the name on it in a Celtic typeset and put the symbol of the wheel of stars, what about something like that?

Branwen

Venus of the Northern Seas. Goddess of love and beauty
