Hard Alcohol/Beer

which one is "better" for a weightlifter if he drinks? hard shit or the brews??? for keeping your body in best shape...

Beer has a ton of empty cals, plus a lot of carbs. Straight hard stuff isn't as bad. But you'd want to watch the mixers, very high in sugar.

Regular beer has about 1.1g protein and 7.5g carbohydrates per bottle. The rest of the calories are from alcohol. While that's far from tons of carbs, an 8 beer night will have a lot of extra carbs in it.

*edit, i meant extra carbs, not empty carbs.

I said a ton of empty cals, as in calories, not carbs. There's no such thing as an empty carb. Regular beer averages about 140 cals per 12oz bottle.

Good job, tiger.

Anyway, yeah, you're better off with light beer anyway. I'd recommend Amstel light. it's the only one that doesn't taste like complete crap.

Fuck man, They’re both pretty hard on the body. I would have to say that hard bar is better for you than beer. But if your mixing rum and cokes, the addition of the coke is going to make the drink worse for you than beer. So I say go drink whatever, get hammered, but don’t do it every night. :)
Ohh... and if you’re going to drink beer, drink something from Canada. Tastes much better!
