Elk, deer, or buffalo is the leanest red meat by far. Virtually zero fat in it. I get mine from a butcher.

Bison is awesome tasting also. A much "sweeter" taste than beef.

I just had elk medallions in Colorado. They were good, but not as good as Bison.

Sirloin is a great choice! Most grocery stores carry it but a butcher shop is often cheaper.

Also, grass fed beef is leaner and has a more favorable fatty acid profile than grain fed, if you have the cash.

Nice post...yes, grass fed beef is always a leaner choice than corn fed.
