glutamine

Hi,
I just picked up my first tub of glutamine.
It sais to take 1 teaspoon (5 grams) per day.
Howver, I have been told by other ppl to take 5 grams (1 teaspoon) of glutamine in between meals anywhere from 3-4 times a day. What it proper? Also, how much water should I mix in with the glutamine? Thanks.

I do ten gr per day, maybe a little more on lifting days. The amount of water doesn't make much difference.

I've heard that more than 10-15grams is useless anyway. I also wanted to know what is the best brand of glutamine and creatine to buy. So much on the market, i've tried many but i just wanted some feedback on user experiences.

For Glutamine : any cheap L-Glutamine peptides

for creatine : German creatine is good
beware of cheap creatine: it may be contaminated by Dicyandiamide, Dihydrotriazine and Creatinine (contaminants)

10-15 grams is definately not useless. especially when u consider the fact that over 60 percent of the free amino content of your muscles are made of glutamine alone.

Glutamine is definitely an "essential" amino worth supplementing with, especially when one's dieting. When your calories are restricted, I'd definitely recommend taking anywhere from 15-30 grams a day. 15 grams a day is definitely the bare minimum. More than 15 on lifting days.
When you're not dieting, you probably get enough in your diet through all the foods that you're consuming. If you take it when you're not dieting, than at least get it in there after you train.
