fuck yeah - 25 pullups

-->>

25 pullups is allot? Damn, dont join the military guys, you'll never get in the chow hall! When I was in ROTC we had to max out and most guys do at least 25-30, of course most of them are skinny little guys so that makes a differance. My girlfriend finally was able to do a real pullup, she was real happy about that, its funny cause I have a guy friend who cant even do 1!!!! what a weak ass. When I do back l hit out about 15-20 but then you get burnt out on them.

WTF??? I don't think we're all talking about the same kind of pull-up here. I'm talking about wide grip, overhand style. You must be talking about close-grip, underhand style when you say, "most guys can do at least 25-30".

No actually you cant do underhand style in the military, you have to do them overhand style. You do know that it makes no differance if you do them wide grip or semi wide grip- it works the same muscles. If you do them everyday they arent that hard. AT Ranger school you have to do 25 in perfect form to be able to get in to eat....so obviously most guys can do them. They aren't doing super wide grip just normal grip. I find them easier overhand then underhand.

Actually it makes a big difference, the wider the grip the farther away the fulcrum is.

Picture a seesaw. Now the farther out the person sits the more weight they account for just as the farther out your grip is.

Your muscle is at the fulcrum right in the center of that seesaw, trying to lift that person up, do you thin it would be easier if that person was sitting close to the center or at the end.

Also, varying the width also plays in the amount of bicep work involved, true a wider grip cuts down the ROM slightly however, not nearly enough to account for the added difficulty.

No wonder you were sent to the military you dumb grunt :) j/k
