So last Monday was World Wide Biceps day. I had just changed by workout, and I was puzzled a few days later by the appearance of bruises in the middle of my inner thighs- and on both sides! I was thinking that maybe the hubby got a little rough until this morning's WWBD.

When I went to do concentration curls, I stuck my elbow into my thight and YEEAAAWWW! It hurt like hell. So I did my curls on the preacher bench.

So, the question is- do I just need to suck it up or are concentration curls on the preacher just as good? I was worried about the not getting a full stretch......

Kronkette has that problem and so do I when I do real heavy dumbell presses (becuase I rest them on my legs before I put them up)

Concentration curls on the preacher can often be better than on the bench or drop setting.

I would say two things. Hit them both, becuase each one will work you a different way. The preacher is going to keep your elbows locked and is one of the best movements for size.

Concentration curls give you a longer stretch and are great as well.

As far as the bruising goes. Up your vitramin C and make sure you are supplementing with Iron. If you are not, make sure to get about 25mg of Iron a day and around 1000 to 2000mg of Vit C

Not in every plane- just when I stick my elbow into my thigh... evidently the bruising takes more than one week to heal.

I've gotten hooked on doing concentration curls "Arnold's way" - standing (bent over). If you have Arnold's encyclopedia, there's a picture in there of him doing them this way. Your elbow isn't resting against anything, so no bruises. I think you see him doing them in Pumping Iron, too.
