Extreme fatigue on diet?!

Hey everyone. I am having a very successful diet/cut cycle so far. my only concern is i have been tired a little earlier in the day and last night i meant to take a nap at 8:30 PM and wake up to study from 9:30-->about 1 AM...i ended up waking up at 9:30 AM!!! (lol)...a little later than planned.

Even on other days...i usually tire around 12-1...recently ive been yawning and sleepy around 10 PM or 11 PM...and this is with nights of ~8-9 hours of sleep. I sometimes am napping for an hour during the day and still sleeping 8 hours. Is this normal since im taking low carbs now? im scared of this during finals week :(. help someone!

List your diet please ...

YES for my lows carbs does not mix with studying and school, my brain enjoys the energy/mental food I provide it when eating carbs.

The most optimal time to study (i just heard from my doc/prof) is 5-8 AM... late night studying after a long day doesnt allow your overworked brain to retain the knowledge quite as well... (according to him ... )

Can you push it to the am or during the day sometime, not so late?

list the diet please

9-10 AM: banana (or orange)

11 AM: workout

whey protein shake post-workout (250 cal + 100 from nonfat milk) = 350
(~65g protein)

1-2 PM: 1st big meal - usually 3 small chicken breasts and a small soup (about 3-4 oz)

4-5 PM: Sandwich (usually wheat with pastrami and a tiny bit of lettuce)

7:30-8 (dining hall closes at 8): large soup (about 8 oz) + half sandwich. Or i option to get salmon if they have it that day or a slice of lamb etc. with some steamed veggies.

some nights (if i dont feel i got enough protein throughout the day) i take a second whey shake a few hours before bed

I recently cut out the soup though since the other thread mentioned how it was more harm than help =p

Even when your cutting you need some sort of complex carb like oatmeal. try eating the oatmeal with a shake or nuts Preworkout, and save the Banana with another shake post workout. Bananas are high glycemic (unlike other fruits) and should only be eaten post workout when your body needs the sugar. Then at your 1-2 o clock meal have some more oats with a protein source. u will burn all these oats before u go to bed at night so u wont have to worry about gaining wieght. i had the same problem on a cutting diet....chronic fatigue. i threw in the oatmeal twice early in the day, and the rest of the carbs came from small portions of veggies. let me know how u make out....your studying will improve also.

Id maybe add some of the following

9-10 AM: banana (or orange) (Protein here, shake, egg whites, some form of protein, esp with fruit... I prefer banana's or green apples over oranges but your choice)

11 AM: workout

whey protein shake post-workout (250 cal + 100 from nonfat milk) = 350
(~65g protein) fine

1-2 PM: 1st big meal - usually 3 small chicken breasts and a small soup (about 3-4 oz) can you eat a healthy carb in here? brown rice, potato, oatmeal, oh and green veggies, dont forget about those, 2-3 x a day maybe??

4-5 PM: Sandwich (usually wheat with pastrami and a tiny bit of lettuce) if you have to have a sandwich, try to look for better choice of meat & bread (whole grain or 100% whole wheat) .. watch the processing..

7:30-8 (dining hall closes at 8): large soup (about 8 oz) + half sandwich. Or i option to get salmon if they have it that day or a slice of lamb etc. with some steamed veggies. the soup and salad may be your only option with dining hall, been there... any way to cook food on your own?

some nights (if i dont feel i got enough protein throughout the day) i take a second whey shake a few hours before bed cals do look a bit low, id be tired if i wasnt eating enough too, not sure your situation with school though
