Everything mental????

Is everthing about bodybuilding/powerlifting a mental game? I mean I know it has its physical pounding, b folds competition, everyones workouts etc etc. But is the bottom line mental? I mean. With all the information on these borads everyone should know what to do to add muscle, cut up, bulk up etc etc. It seems to be all laid out in front of us. So if the answers are there, do this and this and this and you will acheive your goal. So why dont I see a majority of the population walking around with nice muscles and trimmed up. I mean workouts, 4 times a week maybe hour each time. Hit it hard as you can, and boom, done. It just seems we have all then answers to some extent, why dont we follow through with them??? Im just rambling.

Well, sometimes it's nice to try something new. Maybe people are still experimenting with what will work for them. Not every single person will benefit from once a week (per bodypart) workouts that are an hour long.

Some people may like endurance training more. Or full body routines.

Plus, people may be trying to figure out even better ways to make gains, and using NEW formats of training.

The problem is most people don't have to ability to use their knowledge. I have had many friends who wanted to worked, but quit after a week, or my favorite are the ones that lift once a week and claim that they workout everyweek even though all they do is bench. They know that this isn't to most productive way to lift, but simply don't care. Another example is people that cheat when they lift. I think that most of them know they arent doing anything, but they have huge ego's which guide over their common sense. Its one thing to have knowledge and completely another to be able to use it. I find myself making mistakes that I know that I am making for example having to many heavy weeks in a row, or not changing my routine frequently enough.

It takes mental will power to actually stick to a plan without cheating.... A lot of it comes down to mental, but in a few exceptional cases genetics are a great advantage, but without training this talent is wasted... Plus it is tough to go in and work on what we think is our weakest link, to always know we can improve is very daunting, and to actually improve is harder than most people want....

You had your answer without even knowing it. If everybody was an Elite Fitness member then they would know what they`re doing. but you see those commercials for "fat burning cream" etc etc etc. i don`t have to go on. My point is the Majority of the population does NOT read these boards and they watch TV and print for their info. bad info

information in hand is only good with the discipline to apply it.

that about sums it up, also I read this book about how if you put your body and mind in sync that you can make great physical and mental gains
