Does anyone work 3rd shift, when do you lift?

I just got moved to 3rd and I was wondering when you guys lift, before or after work, or sometime during the day.

Bro;

I used to work shifts, and no matter what shift I worked, I would always try to work out after finishing my shift. My body seems better able to handle the stresses after being up for a while. The only thing I would do before working a shift would be cardio - running, swimming, etc. two or three times a week.

Just my 0.02$

i have worked all shifts and to tell you the truth.. it seems as though i make the best gains working third shift..

i get up at around 5 or 6pm then workout around 7 or 8 then go to work around 11pm.. get off at 8am.. sleep from 9 to 5 or 9 to 6pm.. do it again..

i think i sleep better when i work the night shift and that's why my gains come better.

I felt kinda crappy coming out of work this morning, so I don't think I'd have the motivation to do it then. I'll probably lift around 5 or so when I get up.

I have to schedule around 12 hour shifts. Mainly on the days off, but sometimes I have to workout on work days. Days, workout at night. Nights, workout during the day, which is always easier.

i work from 11 pm to 7 am and i like to workout at 7 because of my sleeping schedule. i sleep from 2 to 10. i dont understand some of you other people that work third shift/ you get off at 8 am and go to bed at 9am then get up at 5 or 6 pm. if you were on day shift would you get off at 3pm and go to bed at 4 pm and get up at 12am that just sounds awfull. this way i keep a normal schedule.

I think it just comes down to opinion. Alot of people sleep right away in the morning because that's when everyone else is working. If you sleep 2 to 10, you kinda miss the day.

I do the same thing. Work 11-7am , go home and get ready for the gym and go to bed at 1 or 2 pm in afternoon. I miss the day, but if your going to survive 3rd shift you need to do it. I see more people fuck up by going home and sleeping for a couple of hours and then getting up to go do something because its a nice day. And then they try and sleep for a couple hrs before going to work. Well it just doest work that way.........Heres another problem with being on 3rd shift that I have to figure out. When to take my hgh. Ive heard to take it am and after work out and not to take it before be because you have a natural gh skike while sleeping, and this way you get three spikes in one day. However, what do I do working 3rd shift. Will my natural gh spike be when I sleep during the day?......So, should I take it when I wake up at 10pm and again after I finish my mornig work out at 10 am?........galaxy

I work second shift (2-10:30pm), but no matter what shift I am on, I always prefer to workout soon after I wake up and before I have to work. My body seems to be at it's freshest state, and I get alot more out of my workouts that way. I am a little wore out when I get to work, but who cares? I am a mechanic and my work requires quite a bit of physical labor. I do not like to sacrifice the quallity of my workouts.
