Hypothetically imagine this:
A complete stranger comes up to you on the street and tells you that shouldn't be wearing the shirt you have on and that you should really buy another shirt and that you should really change shirts.

Even though you have no attachment whatsoever to that stranger, it's probably gonna piss you off that they think you even care what their opinion of your shirt is.

Your attitude would probably be..."Who the fuck are you to offer me an opinion about my shirt!?"

See what I mean? Same deal with my ex. She has no right to even voice her opinion to me.
