dieting question

hey all just joined the gym i want to get toned up and tight...i have been researching these boards for months now and im unsure which diet is best for me..im 20f 5'2 115 lbs...my goals r to get a 4 pk n get tight n every area so should i follow the atkins diet..? im still pretty new to this all so unfortunatly i cant make a diet up on my own any help will be greatly appreciated xoxox thnx all
 
the atkins diet is for older people who don't work out-you'd do better going with the metabolic diet written by dipasquale-if you need more info, let me know
 
I like the 40/30/30 plan, with 40 being the carbs.

just make sure the fats are mostly good fats (nuts, peanut butter,olive oil, canola oil, and particularly flax oil)

also make sure you eat low-GI carbs

I used to consume about 15% fat and it got me nowhere...spiking it up to 30% has made a difference

it basically tells you to eat 30g carbs or less mon-fri and then carb up sat/sun-you also lift mon,tue,fri-mon upper bod,tue lower bod,fri whole bod-the main foods are fish,red meat,bacon,sausages,eggs,fat free jello,salad with only romaine lettuce
 
Tha Atkins diet is lunacy.
I like abrocketsfan suggestion of a balanced diet 40/30/30
Decide how many calories a day you want based on where you are going and then go
CARB/FAT/PROTIEN
40/30/30 or 50/30/20

Carbs and protien each have 4 calories to 1 gram
fats are 9 calories per gram
So say you want to maintain 1800 calories a day on a 40/30/30
720 calories are carbs divide by 4 for 180 grams
540 calories are fats divide by 9 for 60 grams
540 calories are protien divide by 4 for 135 grams

Now you can divide this by 5 meals from 7am to 7pm every 3 hours, get the carbs in by 3pm (divide them by 4)
So you have 4 meals as below and the last one would only include the protien and fat.
45 grams carbs
12 grams of fat
27 grams protien

I know it does not look like much, but 1800 calories is not alot and this is just an example.

Add a multi vitamin and some cardio, a before and after shot, and you can go on T.V. like all the other Jabroni....chicks and sell your new wonder weight loss plan!

Simple question: what is your diet like now?
describe ...meal times/amounts/types of food etc.
