Decided to Bulk, Need a little help please.

Ok finally after alot of people on here telling me bulk properly i decided to go ahead and do it. Currently doing the Starrs 5 x 5 and have been having maintenace cals although i thought i was eating enough to bulk a little i was miles off the mark. I need to intake around 4000cals a day to add around a 1lb a week. I want to do this as clean as possible to keep the BF% down. So i was after some meal plans best times to eat etc. Really just general help as when cutting no carbs after 6 etc i take it this gets thrown out of the window whilst bulking? I stocked up on pasta/rice/chicken and a few diffrent sauces etc but obviously need other things to get. Would you reccomend changing my macros from 40/30/30 to a higher carb intake over protein? Sorry for all the questions guys and girls im gonna go do some more reading (theres so many diffrent opinions when it comes to bulking im gettin confused). I am going to start this properly a week next monday so i got till then to sort out my eating plans etc.

Okay i think i am going to try and stick to 40/30/30 although i think i might find that a little hard trying to keep the protein high when i am going to be intaking alot more carbs so the ratioes maybe hard to meet. Any help on carb intake after 6 whilst bulking?

Can you clarify? If you mean should you eat carbs after 6, HECK YES. No reason not to IMO. :)

If you have trouble sleeping (are you still?) Then watch the carb intake in the last meal (I'd still shoot for Protein + fat though) but try some things, it doesnt have to be 110%, you need to experiment.

Some people prefer higher carbs
Others like the clean strict 40/30/30 base all around since you know what that can do for cutting already, just up the cals & portions.

hey crossy.....the easiest way i found to add in the extra cals was mixing shit in my shakes....esp PWO. buy tons of oats and just add 1 1/2 cups with milk to your shake. should be around 900 cals or so....have 2 of those a day. then the rest is just pure dedication...shuffling down all those clean cals is not fun.
 
heres an example of what i was doing on my bulk...ended up on avg around 3500cals although i think this may be closer to 4000

meal 1
- ON whey with milk and 1 cup of oats
- vitamins and green tea
- 2 gluc

meal 2
- 5 whole eggs
- 1 cup of oats
- 2 gluc

meal 3
- 6oz chicken
- 1 cup of brown rice
- 2 gluc

meal 4
- 1 can of tuna
- 1 cup of oats

PWO
- ON whey with milk and 1 cup of oats and 1 banana

meal 5
- chopped up steak with oyster sauce
- green veggies
- 1 cup of brown rice

meal 6
- 2tbsp anpb

Bunny I was asking about eating carbs after 6 because i was told not to whilst cutting. I know this is a bulk but was unsure :). Thanks for the clarification :)

Never had oats on there own before always with milk and abit of splenda.

honestly you can't really taste the oats when you throw them in the shake...

and also if your clean bulking don't throw the anpb in the shake with milk, oats, and banana's...still stick with the same basic rules just more of everything...that's the tough part....but once in a while it's ok though to get your calories in
 
I defo want to keep it as clean as possible. Just to clarifiy with carbs after certain times. I was told when cutting not to eat carbs after 6ish due to them being a energy source and my body not doing to much after that time thus turning into FAT. Is this true whilst cutting? what time should carbs be not eaten after? Just curious as my missus is asking now she loves cerial but never eats many carbs if any after besides after workouts.

aftre 6? it all depends what your schedule is like.. some people say it's fine to eat carbs before bed and other say absolutely not while your cutting. it also depends what time of the day you workout....you train at night right? so do i...when i'm cutting i have my pwo shake (on whey, cup of oats and a banana) and then about 1-2 hours later i eat chicken and either mulitgrain pasta or brown rice or a baked potato. this is usually around 8:30pm and then around 10:00 i have a some anpb. the bulk of my carbs come pwo and the meal after. this works for me...you have to experiment and see what works for you. i think your fine if you do that....i would try to avoid eating carbs right before bed though....have some anpb or cottage cheese instead if you can
