Deadlift, for big boys

Another factor that I believe helps determine how much weight you can pull is what stance you use. Some guys use the conventional stance where you stand with your legs close together. The Sumo stance (which is what I prefer) is where you use a wide stance with your toes pointing out. Personally, it feels like I'm putting less stress on my lower back when I deadlift using a Sumo stance. But it's really boils down to personal preference. Experiment with both to see which one works best for you.

All I know of (very little) are the conventional, sumo, keystone (done from a rack above your knees) stiff-legged and romanian, though the latter two aren't truly "deadlifts" per se.

One armed and what-not deadlifts are there as well. I couldn't give you a list of the grips, but you only have two hands, so I can't imagine a terribly long list of grip styles.

here is a cool way to do them, I use a wide sumo stance myself withmy right hand supinated:

There's basically the standard grip, semi-supinated, standard hook grip, and semi-supinated hook grip.

Then there are conventional deads, sumo deads, modified sumos (Legs closer than traditional sumos....)

Then you have the pseudo deadlifts, like SLDLs, keystones (SLDL's safer little brother. Not to rip on them; I do 'em), and Romanian deadlifts.

Yeah, there are probably more.
