Cutting off diet alone

I always see alot of posts on here saying cardio is a must for cutting, It does seem to be a staple BUT is it possible to cut really hard (getting single digits) while still maintaining good muscle just on super strict diet alone???? I know genetics are a huge factor but im talking for each body type ecto meso endo

I can't see why its essential.

Your just going to have to cut cals by an extra 300-500 per day to compensate for the absence of cardio. I mean a lot of bodybuilders just do LISS and the net calorie burn of walking is < 300 per hour
