craving chocolate, whats up with that

ck2006 said:
true true, but I can honestly say I have never craved tuna before, but oysters yes LOL. Got myself a chocolate protein bar, feeling much better,

gotta look up what foods have magnesium in them.

Thanks
Oh I have, I've had cravings for broccoli, too.

Oysters :worried: I've only attempted to eat an oyster once in my life and was incapable of swallowing it, literally. I've never had anything like that happen before, it was like my throat closed up, not like allergy, just there was NO way that was going down my gullet. Must have had an unpleasant past life experience.

peanut butter

chickpeas
salt

Thanks, maybe that is why I went into the cupboard and took teaspoons of peanut butter this week.

I must be low in magnesium, hmmm.

Not the real big oysters, YUCK, I tried them once to, there was nooo way I could get it down. I hear on that one, ewwwww, I crave the smoked canned oysters ALL the time.

The only thing I've experienced a depletion-related craving for has been peanut butter - obviously my fats were way down. Otherwise... chocolate-- only when I"ve just been dieting too long.

One very interesting thing about Dietex (at least my experience) - is that it kills your appetite - but in a way that also kills your taste buds - after several weeks I just wanted to have a taste for SOMETHING. I still love the stuff tho but I just started missing the taste for anything.

Well, obviously I'm not the most experienced person on this board, but just speaking from personal experience, the chocolate protein bar is the only thing that'll stop me craving chocolate if that's what I'm facing that day. As per threads earlier and the advice I've received, I've really tried to cut back on the amount I consume (whereas before I'd have maybe 4/week...now I'll have 1), but for me it's a dessert thing now. And lord knows way better then sticking my face into a home made gooey chocolate cake. :qt:

Can I get more info from you about Dietex? please

No, this was actually a fried oyster.

Considering the state of ocean seafood these days ... it's probably just as well.

I just bought a whole bunch of tiger prawns and scallops they had a sale at our local grocery store!! two for the price of one :) I can't wait to have a seafood feast!

My craving is gone today thank goodness, but then I don't feel so well now  LOL

Another great old thread!

I saw a recent blurb in Iron man or New Scientist (sorry) that referrenced a paper that said that in cultures where they drink a lot of cocoa the cancer rate is lower than 10% (they are drinking 40+ cups a week).

Cocoa and cocoa nibs are always in my diet :)
