Cooking Oatmeal

Help! I recently switched from the bagged instant oatmeal made by Quaker to the 100% rolled oats variety. And before I was able to get a nice consistency (with the instant oatmeal) but now all I can get is mush. I've tried using different liquid amounts, different times, different whatever, but to no avail.

So how do you cook the 100% rolled oat variety of oatmeal so that it comes out with a decent consistency?

whats decent to you? as long as i can get it down im good ! i mostly eat like i fill the car w/ gas..just to fuel up, not fantacize ! LOL..

Bleh. I used to be like that, but then I realized that I was blessed to the point where I can get down from 18% to 12% by eating hot fudge sundae poptarts and whole milk. Getting rid of this last 4% has me stuck eating tasteless food and I'm trying to make it as tasty as possible.

Finally figured out a good way tho. 3/4 cup oatmeal, 1/2 cup liquid, microwave 45 seconds, add 1 scoop of whey and you have a tasty meal.

Oatmeal can taste great.

I use
- 90 grams oat bran (or steel cut oats if I want more calories)
- 3 glasses water
- microwave shit out if
- 40 grams chocolate miscellar casein blended with water to put on oats, also adding 2 stevia tablets
- 5 grams cinnanom

This is my after cardio meal whilst cutting - 400 calories approx. It tastes great.

For high carb days, I change it to steel cut oats, and it increases to over 500 calories.

I don't like oatmeal when it is cooked. I add 1/2 a cup of oates, the same ones you use, to my protein shakes. I drink two shakes, so I get a full cup of oates a day. That's what I do. After the oates sit in the shake for a bit, they get all soft and chewy and taste delicious. Try it out and let me know what you think. Good luck

I'm tryin that !

Take a serving of the whole oats and blend them up in a blander for 30 seconds. Now you have the same dame thing as instant oats. You want to have the same types of flavors as the instant oats. Just add a table spoon of non fat no dairy creamer or fat free sugar free instant vanilla pudding mix. Now you have your cream flavor just like the instant. You can also add some vanilla protein mix.

Add sugar free dried fruits like strawberry to make strawberry and cream. Just do the same thing with any dried fruits to make all kinds of flavors.. You can take this and make serving size zip lock bags up months in advance since you are using all dry goods it will last for ever.

i throw a cup of frozen mixed berries on 1.5 cups oatmeal... easy, cools it to the perfect heat and tastes pretty good

My oatmeal comes out great....at least I think so, and I start my day with it every day!

1/4 cup of Quaker Oats with 1/2 cup of water into a bowl
Microwave at 1/2 power for 5 minutes
When done, add Cary's sugar-free maple syrup and stir for flavor
