MILF Has a Comp. Prep ?

O.K. I have a question...I've been asking around and I'm getting conflicting answers so please someone help! I'm offically 11 weeks away from my figure comp and I need to know if I should keep up the weight that I'm lifting (lifting as heavy as I can) and same reps or lift lighter weights and more reps. I am currently running Var (secong cycle of it, but first week on). With the new diet I'm feeling a bit fatigued so I've added a complex carb and I may need a fat burner for energy as well. Your thoughts please!!!! And yes I am trying to lean out right now.

MILF in training!!!! :chomp: :chomp: :chomp: :chomp:

From what I've read if one increases reps from what they've been doing it's simply going to make your muscles prepare for "endurance" type lifting... long and stringy. Keep them full bellied. So I hear..... I say go with the reps that got you to where you are, just decrease weight accordingly if you have to due to calorie deficency.

Keep your heavy weights. The light weights more reps is old conventional wisdom that somehow got spread. Invitation to muscle loss. You may do this, I do at contest prep. Do things like drop sets, or supersets, or even giant sets....making your first set your heavy set. This way you are taxing the muscle with the heavy weight, yet fueling more caloric burn with the ensuing sets.

If you have gone to an extremely low carb diet at this point, 11 weeks out, it is probably too early. No wonder you are feeling fatigued. Strength will drop dramatically if done too soon also. At 11 weeks, you should be holding on pretty good yet.

Thanks I'll try the heavy sets first like you said and see how I do. I have lowered my carbs but not cut them out. Like I said I needed to add back in a complex carb to up my energy. I sure as hell dont want to start losing alot of muscle that I have put on at this point. I definatley want to maintain what I have as long as I can before I really have to cut. Thanks for the feedback!

The slower you lose the fat, the better it will be with more lbm retention. We all want it to happen right now, and after 11 more weeks, believe me, you will be ready to get it over with.

Done this many times(competed), so can speak from much experience.....let your diet do some work. If doing figure, you are going to be expending a ton of energy, creating a probable caloric deficit. Adding to this by cutting calories too soon or too much will have disastrous results.
