Ckd Shopping List!! Everyone Reply!

not all saturated fats are bad.
for example coconut oil is mostly saturated fat, but it's not a trans fat. and it actually promotes and increases thyroid output.

I was reading on a low carb forum that people that ate one to two tablespoons of coconut oil per day had their body temperature raise by a few degrees, and they started loosing more weight.

I bought some virgin coconut oil and I'm going to use it to supplement some of the fat on my ckd. It's an MCT also so it's used as energy. So you get energy + increased thyroid output + satisfied fat requirement for your ckd ..

I've heard it downplayed on this board, but I'm curious to see
the results of substituting coconut oil for some fat in your ckd diets.

Mojokid where did you get your's from. My wife purchased some extra virgin from "wilderness...something" recently and I used it a couple of times and I can confirm the increase in body temp.

Are vegies good for ckd?

I got mine from www.tropicaltraditions.com it's straight from the phillipines. Another interesting note is that it has less calories per gram 6.8 I think than other fatty acids so you can eat more of it.

Lots of people who just swap it out with regular cooking oil or butter experience more energy and weight loss without changing anything else in their diet, plus it can be used as skin cream and hair cream.

It's an all around wonder .. and I always find it difficult to meet the fat requirements on a ckd

string cheese
tyson buffalo wings (non-breaded ones)
those frozen cheese steak meats (steak ums)
bests hot dogs (14fat 7 protien 1 carb)
various sausages
lots of mustard and mayo
diet sierra mist once and a while

Damn, you guys enjoy your food. huh? I just eat the SAME thing EVERY DAY tuna + flax or salmon + flax or chicken + flax ALL DAY LONG. BORING? YEP. As long as I get my daily requirements. I hate eating though. people hate me for that. If there was a pill I could take and NOT have to eat I would take it.

yah, my food is getting really boring on ckd.. however, I have the biggest appetite ever... so a lot of SHIT is better than a little good stuff for me =/
