not all saturated fats are bad.
for example coconut oil is mostly saturated fat, but it's not a trans fat. and it actually promotes and increases thyroid output.
I was reading on a low carb forum that people that ate one to two tablespoons of coconut oil per day had their body temperature raise by a few degrees, and they started loosing more weight.
I bought some virgin coconut oil and I'm going to use it to supplement some of the fat on my ckd. It's an MCT also so it's used as energy. So you get energy + increased thyroid output + satisfied fat requirement for your ckd ..
I've heard it downplayed on this board, but I'm curious to see
the results of substituting coconut oil for some fat in your ckd diets.
