Chin Ups RULE!

My arms used to suck major ass. No matter what I did, they wouldn't grown. So I go to change my routine a little and added in chin ups and damn, my arms blew up. So give it up for the chins.

Glad you found another exercise that works for you.

Something to ponder: I have spent most of my earlier years in training ONLY doing compound exercises. Close grip bench press may not hit the triceps as much as push downs do...but they help to make my entire body grow more. Compound means that all of me grows...not just the target muscle at hand. Maybe that is why chins are working for you...

Heh heh, allow me to turn this into another terminologically f'd up thread:

When you say Chinups, are you doing palms in, shoulder-width? Parallel grip? Palms out (pullups)? Because I do all three over 5 sets, but in my next routine I think I'm gonna do just close grip (ll)

Chins are great!! It is an exercise that requires practice. Chins are considered as the greatest exercise for developing lat width. . . . I happen to agree!

I find when I chin I get mostly bi's and have a lot of trouble isolating back, so after heavy deads I generally go with pulldowns
