Just wondering how most of you guys feel about cable exercises. I just started doing more of them and am really starting to like them. I'm talking not talking about heavy lifts here, just for more shaping movements like flys. Instead of incle and decline db flys I switched to cable flys and must say I feel as if I can control and squeze it better. What do you guys think?

cables are excellent for core stability, multiplanar exercises, unilateral training and altering the line of resistance for an exercise. i love cables though they tend to be monopolized all the damn time by the cable crossover hogs. give someone a set of an incline press/ high row combo with rotation to get their body warm and tired. these are more functional type exercises but effective nonetheless. for bb purposes, there are tons of options as well. more continuous tension for tricep kickbacks (probably the only viable way to do this exercise) etc.

good for lateral raises, you get a better load troughout the move

Must have for overhead tricep extensions
