Buying Ground Beef

Does anyone know how much fat drains off when you cook ground beef. For example, does draining a 73/27 (beef/fat) make it like a 90/10? Thanks.

i highly doubt it...

i use a Forman grill for my 93/7, so i hope i'm not losing whatever fat was in there...

so if you start off with lean ground beef, say 93/7, you shouldn't drain it? By the way, this is all in the context of losing weight. I ask cause there is still a decent amount of fat in it.

seriously. the protein content in 93/7 is better also.

consider buying the lean ground turkey (READ the label, not all is lean) and mixing it in with the ground cow as well. I use the foreman to help drain also, but with the 93/7, there isn't much in the little blubber drain.

Yep. Ground turkey. Foreman kicks ass.

I love the foreman, but the smell from cooking on it is almost intolerable for girls i bring back, i dont notice it but i guess its cause i smelled it everyday. The nonstick has worn off good ol' george, so maybe i'll go looking for a good deal on a foreman in the next week.
I normally buy whats on sale and dont normally buy anything less then 80/20. If nothing is on sale i just buy the 93/7 cause its always like $3/lb. I try to make it economical since i try to eat a lb a day.
