Breast Reduction

Hi ladies...

I've read a lot about breast implants on here, but I was wondering if any of you have had a breast reduction?

As far as my lifestyle, I personally am not interested in competing in fitness, just living a healthy lifestyle (I was/still am an athlete, competed at an elite level in middle/high school and college). I like to have my body fat percentage around 17-18%...which for me is low enough to see definition, but not so low that I look gaunt. (I have lovely high cheekbones, and with less body fat my face getts way too bony looking.) But even at that body percentage, I am still a 34 C. I'm 24, and way too young to live with this terrible back pain, permanent red marks on my shoulders, (not to mention finding clothes that fit when you're an 8 down below and a 12 up top) and I'm looking to have a reduction to take me down to a B cup. I know a C cup isn't "that" huge, but I have very slight scoliosis and the extra weight up top just makes it worse. (Not to mention they're a little saggy and gross from previously being a D-DD...I put on some weight during graduate school.)

If you've had a reduction, how much did insurance cover and how much did it cost you out-of-pocket? How long did your recovery take? Did you have any complications? (or any other advice would be greatly appreciated).

Hey girl,
I had a BR when I was 16, Im 19 now. I was a 36DD and 5'2'' and weighed 130lbs. I went down to a small C. I love it, it was the best decision of my life- although mine was covered by insurance becasue it was medical necessity. Feel free to contact me for more information. I can tell you- most women who request BRs are a lot bigger than a C...........so you may have a hard time getting it covered by insurance. Mine was 10,000 yeah thats 10 thousand dollars. I didnt have to pay anything out of pocket. Recovery was great, and really quick- lots to do with age though- not that 24 is old by any means, but..........i hope you understand what Im saying. No complications- scars faded, sensation in my nipples stayed. You would have to contact a plastic surgeon in your area for a consultation appt, there they will take pictures of you and send them to your insurance company. If you are in decent shape, and look proportionally correct, they will not cover the surgery. Let me know if i can help you in any other way- feel free to PM me.........hope it helped and i wrote it fast so if some of it is not clear please let me know.

not bad- very very very sore.........couldnt move my arms around alot- lived in sports bras.....and used lots of frozen bags of veggies for ice packs- they were nice because they just molded themselves to my boobs- so it was alot easier than hard ice packs
scars healed nicely- no loss of sensation- very easy recovery- alot better than when i had knee surgery or my tonsils taken out
any other questions feel free to pm me or post!!!!!
