I respect the efforts of bodybuilders but TBH you cant really compare a BB to a fighter.

I like having muscles and being strong etc, however BBs IMO just get big and jacked up simply to try and look intimidating, thus avoiding ever having to get in an altracation.

TBH pumping weights, juicing, supplementing, dieting, cardio is tough.

But boxing, wrestling, JJ, MT, etc ... takes a ton more mental and physical strength (different physical abilities obviously).

I just have never watched a better , smarter, faster boxer than mayweather Jr and I feel in hand to hand combat he is the king
I wish he would bulk up or him and Jermain Taylor(160) could find a way to match up...Feedback from fight is leading to a HUGE REMATCH and a HUGE MONEY MAKER...

I hope they do it one more time

I tell you what I added boxing, sparing, jumprope, heavybag, speed bag I go there and do it 2x a week...rest week bodybuild...its summer and its hot so it is hard to get bigger and eat more for me...Im hard as hell right now...

how old is to old to start boxing ...even if your not a pro..I will be 25 in Jan ;(

Maybe....but if Tyson (in his prime) hit one of those guys without gloves or those little pads they could easily die.

Man...if Mike Tyson in his prime stepped into the octagon with anyone in MMA right now it would be over. Tyson would seriously end someone's life in one punch.

You can argue about take downs and submissions and what not but if Tyson even grazed someone in UFC or Pride, it would be over. ER visit over. Tyson was an animal in his prime and his foot work was solid too. The moment one of those guys lunged at him to take his legs he would throw a punch and regardless if the dude blocked it or not, it would be over.

to me he was the bully on the playground and once buster beat him he lost EVERY major fight he was in...I think he was manufactured almost and beat alot of people who didnt matter...he didnt beat the best the BEST beat him and I will say his rape convition hurt his deal but as far as pound for pound MAYWEATHER JR has retired beating the best, being the best, and being undefeated and just beat golden boy-

Ali all time and George and those guys old school are the greats
'
mayweather best fighter of this era (hand to hand)

boxing blows...no offence...i have respect for the old skool sport..but real fighting is around and any MMA fighter would kick a boxers ass anyday...Come down to the Rickson gracie academy or any jiu-jitsu/MMA academy and you will be able to kick any boxers ass in like a couple years
your right about halo...great for fights...winny not so much...drys you out and you can get hurt really bad.

it is not the style bu the individual who makes the difference....if a standing up fighter fights without rules (no gloves hence more devastating blow if he has fists conditioned with iron training, fingers jab, punches on the throat etc..) i would be not so sure. Not sure chuck liddell (Kempo-karate) is a wimp :)

Boxing as a work out is fantastic. Nothing works the abs and all the rotator cuff muscles like boxing. of course boxing teaches bad habits if that's all you train, but it has it's place, and as a sport/ workout it's awesome.

I always thought martial arts implied a host of disciplines, including boxing and wrestling. Basically if there is fighting involved, it's martial arts.

I think back in Bruce Lee's day, and still to an extent today, there is an emphasis on the ART part of Martial Arts in some disciplines and less emphasis on what actually happens in a fight, I think this is what Bruce Lee is refering to
