So I went to this snooty little cafe in the snobby old-money part of town and got a pretty darned good brick-oven pizza. It was a bit on the "polite" side -- the pizza was perfectly round with a crust that could have been drawn with a compass, and there were no bubbles and no burnt crispies stuck to the bottom of the crust, but the actual dough recipe tasted pretty close to "right" to me, the tomato sauce tasted fresh and zesty, they used fresh mootz, and the basil leaves were a nice touch. But for a pie made by white non-Italian middle-class kids, it was damned decent. I'd go again.
The price was reasonable too, $10.99 for the pie. However with a soda and side salad and tax my bill was $19.95 plus tip. That salad was pricey.
I didn't try the gelato counter.
