it was definitely a clean hit by NHL rules.. that's why he didnt get suspended.



but it's bullshit. savard was in cooke's view the entire time, he didn't have to smash his head like that. unless you are in a fight, you shouldn't be hitting guys in the head. then again this the sport that had it's last helmetless player still playing into the 90s

Cooke knew what he was doing. They should have changed the rule as of this moment not for next year.

Players are too big the games too fast and equipment is too good now.

Growing up the first thing you learn is to keep your head up and if you see someone with his down hit him as hard as you can but you both felt it. That doesn't mean head shots. Players never wore helmets so they didn't go there.

Take out head shots and take out instigator rule and you take out the punks that can't back themselves up if they had to.
