Beer

Just a quick question which im sure is close to most mens hearts!!!

How bad is beer?

I know you can get low carb versions, which is Michelob Ultra here in the UK, are these any better?

Thanks

Paul

Alcohol has 7 cals/gram.

Only FAT has more: 9 cals/gram

carbs & prot have only 4 cals/gram

Besides, since alcohol is a toxin, it gets priority in the body: Your body cannot do anything else while it detoxifies itself, meaning your fat burning machinery is stopped while your liver is busy getting rid of the alcohol...

Do I have to say more?

simply put: BBing and alcohol DON't belong together...

Alchohol will also decrease test and increase estrogen levels. I agree that liqour and BBing dont mix, however a low carb beer or 2 every month or so is not going significantly hurt your gains. All the same I try to stay away until I know i'm gonna binge if I dont head off the problem and have 1 or 2. Avoiding alch, is like cutting lol.

I always have a pitcher of Guiness post-workout, protein shakes are overrated.

Just kidding. Beer and bodybuilding don't really mix well, but there's nothing wrong with having a few every now and then...keyword is moderation.

As a matter of fact, one can (and probably SHOULD!!! You only live once) have one of anything you love every once in a live... not point in having a great body but being a moody MOFO because of all the deprovation you go through.

Is the same as with cheatmeals: you eat about 42 meals/Week... if you do 41 straight, having one out of 42 as a cheat meal will not kill you. And most likely will prevent a binge...

So, while alcohol is a big nono, you can definitely have a glass here and there to celebrate a goal achieved, or whatever... just don't make it a staple damn it!!!

As said, Moderation is the key,

That is why I say: Fantasy World... how could anybody read those news and think "I knew all the time, give me another pint"... (sigh)
