Has anyone ever had a brazilian bikini wax? I want to but feel wierd going. Wondering what the cons and if it is well worth it. I just hate shaving bare it hurts too much and only lasts for a day!

Appreciate the help-thanks

Can't say I've enjoyed that little experience. I did get sprayed w/ Pro-tan for 2 shows tho. Also not exactly a "modest" experience. At least I knew the person doing it.

I've shaved for so long I can't imagine stopping for long enough to get the hair long enough to wax. I've never done it but I have friends who are hooked on it. Sure it's not pleasant, but neither is the hassle of having to shave every day.

I'm sure that nobody is particularly comfy in that sort of situation. Most of us don't want to be that naked around people who aren't our significant others...but they're pro's and that's what they do for a living. They deal with it all day so I'm sure they bend over backwards to make you feel as comfy as possible. :)

I normally shave, but when I go on a long vacation I wax. I asked for the brazilian two different times now, and they still leave a little bit of a line. They say it's too tender until you are used to it I didn't complain, nor bleed during the waxing, so I guess this is norm?? Anyway, I think its cheaper to get a wax, and leave a little bit of a line, than shave if you want too. Like Raina said, it is VERY hard to let the area grow. There is no way I could stand that gross feeling again!

A few months back I started getting waxed again... Thank GAWD, too. A few more sessions and I'll never have to worry about it again.

Your first session will last about 3 weeks before you really start noticing the hair again. I will tell you that it does hurt, but only for a few seconds. If you're unsure of a brazilian then ask for an extended bikini for your first time. That way you can determine your comfort level at your own pace. If the wax tech. is doing their job properly they will ask you after each passing if you want to work inward a little more. Once you've had some of the hair ripped out (sounds great doesn't it?) you'll be surprised at how brave you can become. In my opinion, it's more than worth the money. I HATE shaving.

I hope this helps you out some chica. :)

Thanks for the info!!! :)

I am newly single so now is probably the time to tolerate a little growth in order to get it done!!

Does it take longer to grow back the more you have had it done? And does it eventually stop growing so much?

Thanks

Over time, less will grow back. Depending on the person, you might only need to go one or two times before it stops growing altogether. You won't really have to let it grow for more than two weeks prior to going in. If it's too long it could be more painful. Don't worry about it being too short. They have a hard wax that works great on the shorter hairs.

Yeah, this may be a good time to get it done as you won't have anyone "notice" the re-growth.....

The regrowth is supposed to be less & less as you continue waxing and it's supposed to hurt less also.... However, when I was being waxed I was only hair-free for maybe 2 days before it started growing back & it continued to grow back -- it never slowed down, so I guess it depends on the person....

I loved my waxer tho -- she was a little younger than me & very talkative, so it kept your mind off it and she was soooo nice...

LOLOL....we should really make a "body hair removal methods" sticky. The Brazillian question pops up pretty frequently, especially in the spring and summer.
