I have already posted one tip for big traps

but here is an exercise that really blows up your traps and forearms

FARMERS WALKS

sure youll get stares in the gym but this exercise is killer...
I like to try and walk with it for 2 mins, if there is not enough space just walk foward and backward or even in a circle.

After my contest in Boston...my traps were sore for DAYS. I made it 135 feet with a pair of 305's!!! Sucked...hurt badly!!!! :)

I do my farmers as heavy as possible for as far as possible. I have Night Fly doing hers up stairs to work on foot speed as well as for cardio. These can also be done on a high aerobics box. We do them with a moderate weight and step up high onto a bench...alternating feet each time. Killer.

You can also do timed holds on the deadlift, trap bar deadlift, seated farmers hold, standing farmers hold...etc... I suggest either the deadlift hold for time in a power rack or the seated farmers holds...so that whey you finally drop it...the bar and the dbell wont have far to fall.

You can also hook a lat pull down or v-bar pull down attachment to the trailer hitch of your truck via chain...and pull it backwards. It will really fry your quads as well as your grip and your upper back/traps.

Probably a dumb question...
but can somebody describe in a little more detail these exersizes...
currently for traps... I do reg. barbell shrugs... behind the back barbells, and usually superset this w/ dumbell shrugs...
but I'm looking for some other stuff to blast my traps...
 
I am picturing you walking in circles in the gym...hahaha. A good trap builder but certainly will generate the funny looks. :)

Try a search on Google for "Farmers Walk". I did that, and got a ton of hits that described it perfectly. Either that, or do a search in the Anabolic Board for the same thing. I posted a site, (which I don't have anymore) that gave an excellent description of the excercise.

I also recommend doing deadlifts for 90 seconds...for max reps. I did that twice yesterday and my traps are FRIED!!!! :)
