And the deadlift rises...

Congratulations!!!

I think pulling 700lbs is a realistic goal for starting 2003. Heck, aim for 705lbs. All I can say is practice:

Squats
Barbell Rows
Chins
Heavy Shrugs

What is your strongest part of the lift. I know that a lot of guys explode off the floor, but they run into problems when finishing the movement. Others rely totally on back power. What kind of stance do you use?

The first 2-3" were my slowest...then it flew up easily. My stance is shoulder width or so...

Thats a great deadlift b fold!

What about sled dragging? Do you think this helps deadlifts too?

I have actually been doing some sled dragging once a week (after DE lower day). I haven't been doing it slowly like the WSB crew does...but just as a walk. I had been doing them just to improve my cardio a bit...

Congrats babe! He talks about it like it was the hardest thing he had ever done...but I swear he made it look so easily. He definitely could have pulled more.

Everytime we have done deadlifts together in Chattanooga, he would get to 615 and stop....and then say, "I think I could have pulled 650...maybe." I finally told him the other day...I said...you have been talking about this for too long. Why don't you do something about it now? :) And...he sure did!

He is motivating to watch....even when he barks! ;)

Sounds like you have stong hips and weaker legs/lower back, focus on those and off the floor will be easy.

Night Fly: Thanks Belle...you don't know how much it means to me to hear you say that.

To all the guys out there...having a strong support group (family and loved ones...like Night Fly) makes all of this A LOT easier. Especially when they can accept the fact that you like to growl, bark, snarl, cough, burp, fart, etc...before you lift.

DBCooper: Maybe...but probably not. It wasn't slow off the floor...it was just the slowes part of the lift. It took about 1-1.5 seconds from start to lockout...maybe. I am very explosive in my lifts....but I either get it or I don't...
