alternative to tuna

motar

Banned
After eating shit loads of canned tuna for the past month I decided I couldn't take it anymore. So I went to Costco and bought some of their kirkland signature premium chunk chicken breast. It tastes and smells a lot better than tuna and each can contains 65 grams of protein and only 2.5 grams of fat. 6 cans sell for only $10. Mix it with some salsa and you are set.

yea good stuff but i cant find it for much cheaper than 2 bucks a can...i mix it with fatfree mayo and eat with crackers...

i couldn't find it for less than $2 a can
i tried it and it made me feel real sick
too bad for me, i was looking forward to something besides tuna

That's a good alternative.
Just check the cholesterol in it. Every one I tried was pretty high. I'm on cholesterol meds and have to watch that.....just a thought.

just make sure you get the breast meat canned chicken. they sell it at trader joes for $2.99 a can.

it is a nice break from tuna.

you can also try making your own tuna salad from tuna steaks - just poach the tuna steak in some water & lemon juice for 5-10 minutes, let it cool, then flake it with a fork. you can mix it with anything you like, then - mayo, olive oil, more lemon, veges. it has a different taste than the canned tuna.

it's a bit more work, but well worth it!

I've tried that stuff- canned chicken is great-- even better if you can find the low or no-sodium type (I am sure this exists in some health food store). I mix it up with safflower mayo and add some seasong and veggies.

Tiger-- It is in with the tuna-- should be around that area. Or in wherever they have that Deviled Ham spread and Spam (oh man-- this is NOT on anyone's diet I hope).
