I usually dont have carb up days but am considering giing it a try. How often do you carb up, I was thinking every 7 days with oatmeal, pasta, and dextrose, up to about 600-800mg carbs. Do you guys lift on the carb up day or take the day off, I was thinking of training chest on that carb day.

Yes, definately have a carb up day at least once per week. How much do you weigh? You may not have to go as high as 600-800. 2-3 x BW(lbs) should be enough. But really, its not gonna make a difference if you have it as high as you do.
And it doesn't matter if you train on that day. Maybe use that as your day off from weights each week. That may actually be ideal.
But I guess the whole point is this........you'll get MORE ripped if you DO have the carb up day than if you DON'T........No doubt about it!!!!

Just continue with your good complex carbs. Oatmeal, sweet potatoes, etc. Same thing you should be eating everyday, but just increase it to 75-100g/meal (as usual, maybe cut them out the last meal of the day). Dont bother with the simple carbs unless you train on that day, then have some post w/o.

Make the first half the day high GI carbs, maybe around 200ish over the first 3 meals, then the next 3 meals eat another 200g of low GI carbs.

So the first three meals eat stuff like sugary cold cerial with NF milk, white bread...anything high GI...just make sure the fat content is very low in these first three meals. I like to eat Entenmanns Fat fee danish as my first few carb up meals. The last 3 meals eat things like oatmeal, yams, brown rice.

I was doing more simple carbs in morning and as day progressed more complex. Worked for me. I was getting 350g carbs max on the carb up days and carbing up on the seventh day.
