Oh gosh. See I lost like sixty odd pounds but I'm only 21 so I thought I'd get the skin to tighten up no?=(

That is possible, I have known a number of FBBers who have lost A LOT more weight than that and had their mid sections tighten up.

Some of it is genetic, but it does take longer for the skin to snap back.

NO...if you have too much excess skin...it will probably never go away...not with a 60lb loss! That is a LOT of weight...about 7 gallons of water if you had to look at it that way...or go pick up a 5 gallon bucket of paint.....>THAT is how much weight you lost! WOW! Good for you! Surgury, with that kind of effort, is not "vanity". It would probably be necessary.... I would sure as hell do it! Just keep your training and diet efforts up at all times....you'd hate to "fill the skin" so to speak.... so keep working girl!

Only a competent cosmetic surgeon could tell for sure. In any event a good doc would advise you to lose as much bf as possible on your own for the best most long lasting cosmetic result. I've seen some GREAT abdominoplasty and I have seen some NIGHTMARISH results. Definitely not a decision to be made lightly.

My advice? Try to accomplish as much as you can without the surgery and when you have met and maintained your ideal bf and kept it for 6 months/year if there is still so much loose skin that you can't live with it, then go for it. But recognize that if you regain the weight or have children the results of the surgery will be undone.

Having said that, post up some bodyshots so we can get a better idea of your overall bf and please don't hesitate to post up your diet and workout so we can best help you meet your individual fitness goals. :)

My sister lost major weight and never had excess skin. She did however get lipo to try to get rid of her cellulite. It never went away.

Bm know's her stuff......listen to her and you'll look like her in no time

I WISH lipo would get rid of cellulite. LOL Any doc who tell you the contrary is straight lying to take your money. There are very few females who do not have *some* cellulite. And so? Just a part of life... We can all strive to be the best we can be but along the way we also need a healthy dose of self-love. *The perfect body* does NOT = happiness.

My point of view has always been try and be as strong and healthy and feeling as good as you can be; a better body is *only* a pretty side-effect. :)

Oh man thanks guys. Well I've decided to really get on the serious track. I'll post myself up soon. And I'll put together a diet. Hopefully you guys can critique me and tell me what I'm doing wrong.

I think with excess skin it is about genes, age, type of weight loss ect. If you lost it slowly and ate healthy it should tighten up. Will it be back to where it was?? Depends on the various factors...
