ive got well toned abs when i stretch the fat aound my gut but thats all. what is the best way to get rid of the fat so my abs will be visable.

i dieted before but since i want to build upper body muscle, dieting isnt a bright idea. what is the best exercise for losing the fat around the stomach quickly

well cardio is the best way to lose fat...however, losing fat is not spot specific. The whole body will lose fat. This makes other muscles show more nicely :p but remember you can do all the situps and cardio in the world if yo do not have caloric deficit forget it....Abs are made in the kitchen not in the gym. ;)

You need priorities. What do you want to achieve first, abs or significant upper body muscle? If you want the abs, you're gonna have to diet. Compose a diet and post it on the boards so people can critique it. If you want quality muscle first, you gotta suck it up, pun intended, and eat.

There are of course artificial ways you can go about it, but I'm not one to speak of that (see: anabolic forum)

thanks for the feedback.

i dont think i'll be using steroids though.
i suppose muscle is more imporant to me than a 6 pack.

another thing whilst i paly soccer once a week and maybe run a few miles also, i do not do any other leg work, will building upper body muscle place strain on my legs or will they get used to it?

, i do not do any other leg work,

without lower body work (I guess you don't deadlift either) you're doomed to mediocrity. If you cut calories without training correctly you'll end up a smaller version of yourself, with the same fat percentage on a smaller, weaker body.
